“Publishing these names encourages defaulters to make a full and prompt disclosure and cooperate with HMRC to avoid being named – all the named defaulters have exhausted the appeals process.”
I’m uncomfortable with this. They’ve paid their penalties but now will forever have this hanging over them, in order to be used as publicity for HMRC.
When HMRC make errors will they be publishing the names of staff who got it wrong?
