CIMA last month lost the High Court judicial review of the Margaret May disciplinary case. CIMA had argued that a single email, sent internally by Mrs May in her role on the CIMA governing council, was supposedly confidential. But that was firmly rejected by the Court, both factually and legally.
The saga lasted years. CIMA look to have spent well into the hundreds of thousands of pounds of their members’ money. Little, if anything, to do with mainstream accountancy.
