Property Tax / Rental Income – Out of Tune

As a tax barrister I was interested to see that a commercial property company owned by a political party (Labour) has not paid any tax since 2003. Despite millions in rental income over the years it somehow made losses. This was partly due to the “administrative expenses” and  payments to the party being high. All perfectly legal and correct, of  course. But somehow not in tune with what the political parties are lecturing business about.
