Onshore Gaming Duty‏

I see tax on online gambling will undergo a major shift from December 2014. HMRC have announced the move to a “place of consumption” basis and away from “place of supply”. This means online casinos, bookmakers and so on taking UK money from UK customers will in future have to pay UK tax. The new regime will require customer location and authentification checks, with a nil return being assumed to be a UK based customer. HMRC will publish full guidance next year but have announced the forthcoming change to allow businesses to prepare ahead of time.
