Inheritance tax has got out of hand. Originally brought in as a kind of super-tax on big Downton Abbey type country estates it has now become warped. The projected increase of estates having to pay it (up to 10% by the end of the decade) is due to inflation hitting pensioners. I think the trouble is *Bigoted Labour like inheritance tax as it appeals to their agenda. The Tories don’t seem bothered. UKIP wants to abolish inheritance tax, to be paid for three times over by reducing aid to foreign space programmes. Who know about the LibDems.
* “Bigoted” is the phrase used by Gordon Brown at the 2010 general election.
