Tax Equality Day Sees a Fair VAT Reduction

Pubs and restaurants joined in the Tax Equality Day campaign this week by cutting their prices by 7.5% for day. The campaign aims to highlight the unfairness of supermarkets which don’t pay any VAT on food but pubs and restaurants have to pay VAT at 20%. The idea behind the campaign is that unfair tax levels cost jobs in the hospitality sector and act as a drag on the economy
