Budget – Bank Mis-Selling Tax Loophole Closed

A tax loophole used by the banks to make, even more, profit, from mis-selling is to be closed it was announced in the Budget. Currently banks can claim tax relief against the full provisions they set aside for mis-selling. All very nice. Even nicer for them is when they then obstruct or block claims from customers, forcing may to give up or take unfairly low settlements. So full tax relief on the provisions but doing what they can to cut down actually returning the money they wrongly took.
