UK Treatment Denied & UK Pays for Euro-NHS – Anti UK Discrimination?

Seems anyone who can get hold of a UK paid for European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) can get health treatment in Europe funded by the UK NHS. EHIC cards are handed out freely to anyone in the UK, but now a media report has uncovered how easy it is get one without even being in the UK. This then gives treatment in Europe, paid for by the NHS. A Euro-NHS in effect. The Health Minister Mr Burt says it is “unacceptable”. But what about UK taxpayers and what they get for their money? Treatment is sometimes denied to UK residents to save money, e.g. parents threatened with court for trying to go abroad to save the life of their dying child because the child was initially denied treatment in the UK, allegedly. So cuts to health treatment in the UK indirectly funds a Euro-NHS. Worryingly it looks to me like this could amount to anti-UK health discrimination.
