France Seeking £1.3 Billion Tax from Google vs UK Just £0.13 Billion

French tax authorities are rumoured to be seeking €1.6 billion, about £1.3 billion, from Google in back taxes. Compared to HMRC only getting £130 million. Given the Google business model in both countries is essentially the same, either the French are doing very well or UK citizens are being short-changed by HMRC not trying hard enough.
