Complaints About Tax Paid by Another Tech Company

The accounts for Uber London Ltd, which uses the taxi app, have attracted criticism for the tax it paid. On turnover of £23.3m tax of just £0.4m was paid by the tech company to HMRC, due to various expenses. Media reports have suggested the commission paid by the drivers to Uber in London ends up with a company in the Netherlands. The Green party have also criticised Uber’s arrangements and called on the Tory Government to take action.
