EU Imposes Steel Tariffs on China

The EU has provisionally imposed extra trade tariffs on Chinese steel, up to 22.6% on hot-rolled and up to 73.7% for heavy plate steel. The extra import duty and tax is based on EU claims of dumping. Chinese contests this, pointing out Chinese steel has under 5% of the EU market and querying if the EU’s methodology is sound and complies with WTO (World Trade Organisation) rules.
