Norway Extends Ship Tonnage Tax into 2017

Norway has got EFTA, European Free Trade Association, approval to extend its current tonnage tax by 6 months to mid-2017.
The extension will allow Norway time to finalise a revised tonnage tax scheme, to be renewed for 10 years, and for EFTA approval.
Under Norway’s tonnage tax maritime and ship transport is calculated by tonnage, more favourable than the standard 25% corporation tax rate.
